Genoa

Genoa (called Zena in the Liguria dialect) is the capital of Liguria; city of sea, and with a glorious history, it is known with the name of Superba ( proud ), and it is today one of the most important and populated metropolitan areas of Italy.

The center, that develops in the creek of the port, has the magnificence of a place marked by the nature and the history. Part of this historical center has entered in the list of the World Heritage of UNESCO. Picturesque and full of fascination, the center of the city is characterized by the "vicoli", small ways and piazze, in which there are many bars, restaurants, clubs. In weekend the young people meet in the ways of the Historical Center, and in particular in the Piazza delle Erbe. One of the most famous zones, and indeed one of the most colourful, is Boccadasse, an ancient seafaring village that offers splendid panoramic views. The village is enclosed in a narrow creek; to the left of this creek there is Capo Santa Chiara, with on the top a small fortification; on the right side, instead, there are the boats of the fishermen. Boccadasse offers a magnificent panorama, and when the sky is clear, you can see the cape of Portofino.
