The Aquarium of Genoa is the greatest italian aquarium and the second in Europe, after the one of Valencia - Spain. It is situated in Ponte Spinola, in the old harbour of Genoa, and is to the third most visited museum in Italy. Therefore the Aquarium is a wonderful touristic attraction for those who are visiting Genoa, above all for the children, but also the adults will be fascinated by the aquatic world...
The 63 basins of the Aquarium accommodate fish and many reptiles, and reconstruct the original natural environments, from the tropical seas to the pole, of the colourful fish of the coralline reef to the penguins.
Of particular interest are the three great basins that accommodate dolphins, sharks, seals and turtles beyond to other fish. The widening of the Aquarium has brought to the construction of open basins: they are the most amusing of the whole structure, because here you can put the hands in the water and touch the fish.
